Metallized Barrier Film
Vacuum metallized film combines the handling properties of a plastic film with the reflective and barrier behaviour of a thin aluminum layer. The metallized surface blocks light and UV, while the non-metallized CPP face provides a low-temperature heat seal. Used as a print or barrier layer inside laminated structures, and directly for wrappers and sachets where light protection matters.
Compliance Standards

Questions
Frequently Asked Questions
Common questions about Metallized Barrier Film — specifications, usage, and compliance
VMPET is usually chosen for printability and stiffness, while VMCPP is chosen where a low-temperature heat seal is needed on the non-metallized face. The choice follows the structure and the line.
It improves barrier incrementally, but the main benefit is blocking light and UV. For low moisture transmission, a foil core or a coated film remains the stronger option.
The aluminum layer is specified by surface resistance, typically 1.5 to 2.5 Ω/□. It is an indication of the metallized layer rather than a product performance figure.
The aluminum layer makes the structure harder to recycle than a mono-material film. Where recycling matters, we can discuss mono-material alternatives.

Recyclable Blister Packaging Under the EU PPWR: What to Specify Now
The EU Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation pushes blister packs toward design-for-recycling, but recyclability depends on the material stream, the lidding and the collection scheme in each market. This note sets out how PVC, PVC/PVDC, PVC/APET laminates, APET and RPET sit against those requirements, and the specification points worth fixing before tooling and validation.
