Green Medical Packing Expands Quality Control Laboratory Capabilities
2026-05-11

We have expanded our in-house quality control laboratory with additional testing equipment covering barrier performance, mechanical properties, and dimensional measurement. The investment reduces reliance on external laboratories and shortens the time between production and batch release.
What Was Added
The expanded laboratory now supports:
- Moisture and oxygen barrier testing — water vapor transmission rate and oxygen transmission rate measurement on film and laminate samples, using defined test conditions and methods
- Mechanical testing — tensile strength, elongation at break, and tear resistance across machine and transverse directions
- Dimensional measurement — thickness profiling and width verification to tighter internal tolerances than the published specification range
- Seal strength and integrity testing — seal strength measurement and dye penetration checks on formed and sealed samples
Why In-House Testing Matters
Testing performed in-house shortens the feedback loop between production and quality release. When a parameter drifts, the cause can be investigated while the batch is still on site, and corrective action can be applied before release rather than after.
For customers, the practical benefits are:
- Faster batch release and therefore shorter order lead times
- More frequent verification sampling than would be economic with external laboratory testing
- Faster response when a customer requests re-testing or additional data
Documentation and Release
Every batch continues to be released against the specification agreed at qualification, with a certificate of analysis covering the parameters relevant to that product. Customers with additional data requirements — barrier values at specific conditions, for example — can request supplementary testing as part of their order.
Our quality system operates to ISO 15378 principles for primary pharmaceutical packaging materials, in addition to ISO 9001 and our environmental and occupational health and safety certifications. Certification details are listed on the certifications page.
Looking Ahead
Laboratory capability is one part of a broader investment program covering production equipment, cleanroom conditions, and warehousing. Details of our production lines and capacity are on the About page.
